Raman Piatrushenka, Vadzim Makhneu, Aliaksei Abalmasau and Artur Litvinchuk of Belarus clinched the Canoe/Kayak Flatwater Kayak Four (K4) 1000 meter final on 22nd August 2008 at the Beijing Olympics. They paddled across the finish line in 2:55.714 minutes. Slovakia was just 0.879 seconds to get the silver. Germany came in third.

The team from Belarus bagged the Men’s Canoe Double (C2) 1000m gold with a timing of three minutes and 36.365 seconds in the going-to-end-soon Beijing Olympics on 22nd August 2008 (Friday). Germany had silver with 3:36.588, Hungary had bronze with 3:40.258.

Two Olympic facilities, Beijing Shooting Range Hall and the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park, have completed. The 8600-capacity shooting range hall will witness the first Olympics gold medal being presented. The other sports venue, the Shunyi water park, will host a number of water competitions such as rowing, marathon swimming, canoeing and kayaking.
