Third Phase Tickets
News July 29th, 2008

Kyle from I Am the Manchurian Candidate has some on-the-spot pictures and stories from the third-state ticket queues.
The Olympic tickets were sold in three different stages, the first and second being online and phone orders, but the last sales were to be done at the venues of the events this past Friday. I decided I would go ahead and give it a try鈥 As I tell my students, in regards to taking certification exams, 鈥淚f you try, you might fail; if you don鈥檛 try, you always fail.鈥
I (somewhat naively) assumed that the need to physically queue for tickets would eliminate everyone but dedicated Olympics fans. Sadly, from this account and my friends’ comments, it seemed like aggressive speculators and scalpers ruled the day, making it hard for families who wanted to watch a game to get tickets. What a shame!
