No Dog Meat During Beijing 2008, I Support This…
News July 15th, 2008

Dog meat is banned in official designated Olympic restuarants in China, particularly in Beijing during the Olympics. It is believed that if you have eaten dog meat before, dogs won’t be so friendly to you. I suggest to go veggie or eat the famous Beijing duck during the Games instead.
Dog, known in Chinese as “xiangrou,” or “fragrant meat,” is eaten by some Chinese for its purported health-giving qualities.
Waiters and waitresses should “patiently” suggest other options to diners who order dog, it said, quoting city tourism bureau Vice Director Xiong Yumei.
