White Cloud Temple and the Olympic Torch
News February 9th, 2008
Rumor has it that the silvery cloud design on the Olympic torch was inspired by the artwork at the White Cloud Temple (Baiyunguan) in Xuanwu, Beijing. I visited the new year’s fair at the White Cloud Temple today, and when I saw this wall, I decided the rumors must be right. Look at the clouds at the bottom of the mural… they definately look like the cloud motif from the torch to me!
How about you? Do you see the resemblance?

I like the torch design even better knowing it comes from traditional Chinese art!
