Beijing’s 10 Most Dangerous Bus Lines
News October 27th, 2007

Planning to visit Beijing for the Olympics? Watch your bags! The Beijing transit police recently listed the ten bus routes where pickpockets are most common.
The ten named bus routes are 9, 57, 701, 707, 728, 44, 300, 302, 808, and the Bus Rapid Transit route between Qianmen and Demaozhuang in Daxing district.
The reasons are varied. Some of these bus lines are long-distance rides where passengers are likely to fall asleep, others are packed commuter routes, where a pickpocket is hard to identify in the shoulder-to-shoulder mob.
Don’t despair! Beijing has over 800 bus lines, so staying away from this list won’t be difficult. And if you do wind up on a sketchy Beijing bus, just stay alert to your possessions.
