It’s hard to visit any tourist attraction in Beijing without someone offering to sell you Fuwa merchandise. Sometimes it’s a stand selling postcards, film and Beijing 2008 souvenirs, sometimes it’s a vendor a shopping bag, looking over his shoulder for the police.

This store, on the first floor of the Xin Dong An mall in Wangfujing, is one of the many licensed vendors. The shop is full of Fuwa toys, Olympic-branded clothes, and all kind of things. If the crowds on the day I visited are any indication, the competition from street vendors isn’t hurting this shop’s business at all.
