Foreign publications which are currently banned in China will be available to foreign participants at the Olympic Games, says Liu Binjie, minister of the General Administration of Press and Publication. He plans to temporarily lift the ban on the printing of foreign newspapers and magazines during the Olympic period.

During the Olympics, overseas publications will be printed in China, imported from abroad, or electronic versions will be made accessible. The article goes on to say that selected foreign publications are already available in China… but I haven’t been able to get a Jane or Cosmo into the country, let alone the New York Times.
