First Kitchen Trash Treament Plant For Beijing 2008, Rubbish Has Somewhere To Go

The first kitchen trash treament plant built for Beijing Olympics 2008 has open its doors for kitchen rubbish from 122 hotels and 31 Olympic sports facilities in the city. 3 other similar plants are in the works.
Situated inside Daxing District, southern Beijing, and with a cost of 21.34 million yuan (about 2.67 million US dollars), the plant covers an area of 0.39 hectares and is capable of processing 73,000 tons of kitchen trash a year.
