Australia Athletes (Most Likely) Can Blog In Beijing 2008
News July 26th, 2007
Australia 500-strong Olympic team are most likely be able to blog during next year Beijing Summer Olympics as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has recgonised the importance of the Internet and blogging to young athletes and audience. However, blogging sports men and women have to adhere to strict blogging rules during the competition.
Athletes would have to comply with some strict conditions on their blogging, including not benefiting financially and not criticising coaches or other athletes.
Athletes would still not be allowed to include any video they may take inside official Games venues on their blogs, as this could undermine the TV coverage of the Games by official broadcaster the Seven Network.
We won’t be seeing any exclusive videos on the athletes’ blogs but at least we can know their inner-most feelings and give our support.
