No Media Freedom in Beijing
News February 4th, 2007
The Chinese government has been accused of controlling the media. In other words, if you are from the media, you are not allowed to report anything as you wish.
A media watchdog, Reporters Without Borders, has voiced out the situation in its annual report:
“The press (in China) is being forced into self-censorship, the Internet is filtered and the foreign media very closely watched.”
It will take some time for China to allow freedom of the press. Absolute freedom is somehow, impossible in China, even as China promises to increase media freedom before the Beijing Olympics.
